Musicians for a Cause works with nonprofit organizations to bring life to their mission through
music by providing custom compilations of songs themed to directly support their efforts. These
compilations are used in awareness campaigns and fundraising efforts and are available as CDs
and also as digital downloads.

Custom compilations deliver unique songs with messages directly in support of your effort -
bringing life to your cause. This ensures that every time someone hears a song on their mp3
player or a CD, they think of your organization. All songs also include the artist inspiration notes
to create an even deeper connection with the listener. They're great tools to create community

Our custom music compilations are created by reaching out to a network of over 400,000
songwriters and musicians through an international competition to produce the most compelling
combination of songs we can find - songs that tug at heart strings and create an emotional bond
between the listener and your organization. Most of the songs come from independent artists,
and in many cases it's the same artists who songs are considered for today's TV shows and
movie productions. On a selective basis, based on the size and scope of the project, we'll also
reach out to some established artists to participate.

There are lots of incredibly talented independent artists who write amazing songs that most
people never hear - commercial success is limited to very few! Leveraging the independent artist
talent is what the major networks, movie producers, and companies are all focused on because
they recognize that they can get more selection, simplified licensing and at a more reasonable
cost. There are many benefits to working with independent artists:

* Independent artists are more focused on expressing themselves through music. They don't
have record companies driving them to record commercial material so they write from their heart
and have more cause-related songs.

* Independent artists typically own their licensing rights where established artist songs are
usually owned by publishing and record companies. This allows us to manage the licensing more
efficiently.

* Established artists focus on songs that will get radio airplay - that's how they make a living -
and most cause-related songs don't get much airplay so there aren't many available. Also, songs
that have had radio play are instinctively associated with the artist, not your cause.
